Heron’s Nest: The Latest

Amidst the flood of paying work lately (and mind you, I’m not complaining), I’ve managed to squeeze in a few hours here and there to push the Heron’s Nest towards completion. There were two things left on my mental list that had to be checked off before I could move to final testing and installer: adding some more ground interest around the house, and putting in a steel staircase descending the hill to the float dock. Happily, item one is now complete. Here are a couple of shots of the cottage now that it’s been filled in with all vegetation and a flagstone walkway.

Item two, the steel staircase, is modeled, and I’m working on finishing the texturing for it. I’ll post shots once it’s ready.

Hi Bill, I figured that you would do Nantucket first to get some development money but I welcome the addition of the beautiful Heron’s Nest. I am headed that way this week end to do a rail and boat tour.

Oh, it’s got it! It’s hard to see from the angle I chose, but in the first pic you can see a faint wisp of smoke rising from the other side of the house.

You did a masterful job as usual. Although I kind of agree that it does have a Stephan King air about it. Maybe off in a corner, it could use a broken down, faded, Republic Sea Bee with a absent engine and a flat tire. Maybe even a missing elevator…

Got a problem with Herons Nest. Is the strip level? My strip and other simmers have quite large rises on both ends of the strip. Like taking off up a rather steep hill.
