Fly the Wilds of Alaska
This addition to Microsoft’s Flight Simulator X renders a large part of Southeast Alaska and northwestern British Columbia (some 80,000 square kilometers) in the glorious natural beauty this area is known for. You get a flying environment that puts you in the pilot seat flying around some of the most stunning landscapes you’ll find anywhere on Earth.
You not only get the accurate coast lines, lakes, islands, roads, rivers and glaciers, but in a wide variety of airports and seaports to explore in this rugged area of fjords, mountains, lakes and sea. You may visit many of the US Forestry Service cabins used by hunters, fishermen and hikers hidden near the many lakes and fjords. And what is Alaska without shipping? We have added moving ships and boats, created by Mitsuya Hamaguchi and Larry Silsbee in many different locations, not just in harbors. Spot and then follow them with your Beaver!
And then there are the many scenery additions by Bill Womack who recreated Sitka and Petersburg airports as well as landmark objects of Sitka and along the Sitka and Petersburg harbor front.

Tongass brings this part of Alaska alive. A definate must have
Tongass Fjords is just simply amazing. I’ve spent just a little bit of time exploring, but I truly love this add-on. As Bruce mentioned, this is a must have for anyone wanting to get the most out of Alaska.

Thanks, Jerry. Tongass is even better when paired with Orbx’s new Pacific Fjords package. The two sceneries work amazingly well together.

I have tried everything possible including the updated patches for all of the ORB scenery……I have taken tongass out of the scenery library and i get the ocean back…..when i place tongass back into the scenery library, I get nothing but trees ecept for the harbour, but next to the runway its trees for as far as you can see.
can you explain how you got it to work with ORB.or how you arranged things.

This is the BEST scenery for FSX in terms of quality and quantity. Yes Orbx is nice, realy nice, but TFjX is the most imersive and enlightening. This scenery package is a MUST own if you want the best. Bill and Holger are like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in the FSX world IMHO. The fact that these two work for Orbx is just jubulation and something the CEO of Orbx hopefully recognises. Yes I’m a fanboy, only because I’ve tried most if not all the competition. Oh and I like flying in beutifull scenery.
thanks again for the work on this amazing add on. One of my all time favorites. I really appreciate the realism of it all, and i even know a former bush pilot who i met online who used to fly into Petersburg, i will have to see if i can get him to get a copy of this, as he enjoys the flight sims when he can…. thanks again for superb enhancing of our virtual worlds.
