Hi Bill,

I rediscovered the great little M-18 Mooney and I remembered spotting something about a Bugatti paint sometime past. I looked all over and even saw it referred to in a couple of forums but I couldn't find it. Then I found your iblue yonder site and was delighted to come across the Bugatti paint. It is spectacular right down to the gorgeous tooling on the panel. I put the Jag paint on my Lancair and it really looks spiffy. Thank you for all of your work. I'm really enjoying the Alaskan landscape so I'm getting Tongass.
soon.

Thanks Bill

Very useful indeed. I love the effects you were able to create with the different layers. I'm having a go at repainting one of the older Carendao aircraft the 182 RG Skylane. The only trouble I've had up to now happened when I put a logo on the wing. I only placed one logo on the wing but it duplicates to the other wing but reversed. I'm assuming the wing in the fuse2.bmp is reflective in some way. I guess I'll just have to stay away from the wings or place symmetrical items on there.

Thansk again for the link. Greatly appreciated.

Best regards

Hi Graeme,

As luck would have it, I did a tutorial on this blog about repainting Carendo aircraft. You can see it here: http://iblueyonder.com/no-layered-paint-kit-no-problem/

That should get you started. Or completely confuse you. Hopefully the former.

Hi Bill

Great repaints here and a great blog. Could you recommend any specific tutorials or videos on getting started with repaints. I've got a couple of Carenado planes I'd like to try and do some paints for but I'm new to this. I've tried searching the likes of YouTube but it's difficult to work out which are the decent ones plus there seem to be diffrences between repaint default FSX (which I have no interest in) and Carenado aircraft. Any help appreciated.

I'm not sure there's any difference between this version of the texture in FS9 and FSX. I don't recall the format of this texture at the moment, but it it's a BMP, you can probably just use it directly in FS9. If it's a DDS file, you'll need a tool to convert it to BMP. Google can probably help you sort out what tools are available for that.

Bill - I found your Black Panel for the Carenado 172N and sent it to a friend. Like you he is an avid simmer and like has also translated his love of flight to real world flying. He has his private ticket and is working his instrument certuication. an instrument The black panel looks very much like the one in the 172 he occasionally rents. I fly in FS9 and would like to see the black panel in the Carenado 172 that I fly in FS. Would it b feasible, or even possible, to convert the panel to an FS9 comp[atible form? How might I go about that?
