Fanboy Friday – Talking to Myself?

in Fanboy Fridays

I get it. I haven’t posted in a long time, so you decided to go elsewhere for your FS blogging joy. Thing is, it takes a lot of effort to put together a longer post like last week’s, and I’m a little busy at the moment, so this week you get an in-progress shot. Which project? Guess. This is the first time I’ve posted shots from this particular scenery, and there’ll be a lot more to come soon. In the meantime, make me smile and post a comment.

I have had a great fondness for the Portland area ever since I bought the Flightscenery FS9 addon many years ago (and visited the area from the UK for an all-to-brief long weekend). So yes, I second the vote for KVUO; or indeed any airfields in that area.
Sorry I didn’t get around to commenting on last week’s reappearance of the much-missed Fanboy Friday. I imagine a complete lack of response to a blog is very disappointing – much like when I post a photo on FB which I have spent ages editing and no one ‘Likes’ it – but more so!

Mr. Wo. Your work is very much appreciated. People can be a little “slack” at times so do not measure your achievements by their responses. You know you do excellent work and just in case you needed a little encouragement, kudos to you sir.

I’d really love to learn how to create such amazing scenery that you create Bill. But I have no clue on where to start.

Richard, your best bet is to head over to http://www.fsdeveloper.com – they’re a great group for beginners to start learning the craft.

Of course, this is KVUO. More specifically, the shot was taken from Hayden Island, Oregon, looking north across the Columbia River. Pearson Field (KVUO) is just out of the frame to the right, in the far distance.

Great news. Looking forward to flying in to Pearson Field again.

Hi Bill,

Looks like the I-5 interstate bridge and whattaya know, that what it is. I’m looking forward to Pearson and it looks like the surrounding are will be Womacked as well. Does this mean KPDX will have some upgrades as well?

By the way, after reading this blog I got Cushman and it is just as you saids the ultimate GA airport. I have recently bought Tongass and hooking that up to Misty Fjords has made me a well intentioned bush flyer in that wonderful scenery. Thanks for your terrific work.

Thanks, Cal! Glad to hear you’re enjoying Cushman. Regarding PDX, I’m not planning on doing anything to that airport as part of the Pearson scenery. I hadn’t planned on doing Pearson at all, as John V. halted all work on PNW airports a while back, but we were contacted by the manager of the Pearson Air Museum who begged us to do a rendition of KVUO for FSX. When a high muckety-muck from an airport is that keen on a sim version, it pays to listen!

Good to see you’re back, Bob – the virtual world needs you! No idea about that bridge, though – must be your side of the pond…
Best Wishes from the Mutley Crew.

Haha, I was just looking at Pearson on GE and thinking what a great airport it would be to create for FSX. Glad to see you’ve tackled the job!
